SoftWave Stem Cell Therapy
What is SoftWave Therapy?
SoftWave therapy uses high speed sound waves to help locate areas of damaged tissue. The sound waves elicit a strong cellular response in the damaged tissue, much like the body’s natural response to trauma. This causes the body to initiate its natural healing response which includes the recruitment and activation of stem cells.
What to expect?
The procedure is similar to ultrasound and only takes 5-10 minutes to complete. During the treatment, the sound waves pass through normal tissue and you won’t feel anything, but when they hit damaged tissue, you will feel some level of discomfort which is an indication for treatment. Typical treatment plans consist of 6-8 sessions with up to 80% of patients reporting improvement after the initial session and maximum benefit being seen 10-12 weeks post treatment.
SoftWave Therapy can be used for a variety of conditions. Some of the most common conditions include:
- Shoulder injuries (rotator cuff)
- Tendonitis (tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow)
- Arthritic joints (knees, wrists)
- Plantar fasciitis
- Muscle pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Recruitment and activation of stem cells
- Increased blood flow
- Decreased inflammation
- Improved range of motion
- Decreased pain
